The Managing Partners of the Geis Group, Hans-Georg Geis and Wolfgang Geis, have been awarded the LEO Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The award is made annually by German logistics journal Deutsche Logistik-Zeitung DVZ. Hans-Georg Geis and Wolfgang Geis accepted the coveted prize on 2 March 2012 at a gala event in Hamburg.

The "Entrepreneur of the Year" category honours the achievement of leading figures in the transport and logistics industry. According to the jury, Hans-Georg Geis and Wolfgang Geis are firmly rooted in their home region of Franconia. They manage their company progressively and in a quality- and customer-oriented manner. Geis is pursuing a long-term growth strategy and expanding in known markets from a position of regional strength.

Multiple award-winning logistics company

The company, founded in 1948 by their father Hans Geis in Bad Neustadt, Franconia, has over the past few decades grown into a global full-service logistics provider. Around 3,800 people currently work for the company at 84 company-owned network and logistics sites. In 2011 the Geis Group was awarded the Bavarian Quality Prize for its exemplary quality standards and concepts by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. In addition, the logistics company has already been awarded four times as "Bavaria's Best 50".
